I prefer to call myself a Mama Bear
I'm a mom who simply wants to make sure she can protect her kids. When my husband deployed for the first time, I did not realize how much I relied on him for the safety of myself and our family. That did not sit well with me. So I took a deep dive into learning how to be my own first responder and I found my calling to share and help others do the same.

KOA ATHLETICS CHANGED FROM A FITNESS BRAND TO A SAFETY BRAND
I launched Koa Athletics in 2019 as a fitness brand
I WANTED TO CREATE ATHLETIC CLOTHING THAT HAD A DEEP MEANING TO THOSE WHO WORE KOA ATHLETICS APPAREL (like Lululemon). BUT NOW, I HAVE AN EVEN BIGGER VISION.

Women who wear Koa Athletics apparel are part of a crew that's behind an important movements in the United States... taking self protection into our own hands and not giving up our rights to bear arms.

Since I wasn't able to find leggings that met my safety and comfort standards after getting my carry license, I went back to the drawing board with my manufacturer and re-designed the leggings to accommodate a firearm safely and comfortably.
But, why stop there?

Koa Athletics only uses fabrics that have been certified against hundreds of harmful chemicals keeping you, workers, and the environment free of these harmful substances.

Continuing education and safety are the core values of Koa Athletics. I've seen too many unsafe methods being taught and unsafe products being sold. Unfortunately, many brands focus on their bottom line and don't care about the human using their product. You won't find that here.
We believe there is no one way to protect yourself, but there are definitely wrong ways; which can be life threatening. This is why continuing education and critical thinking is an absolute must in the field of being your own first responder.

I may have gone to school for engineering, but I am an artist at heart. I love working with my hands. Lately I've been enjoying planning house flips and playing music.
My husband and I converted a school bus which we live in full time with three kids and a dog. Yes, it's getting toit. We're looking for a house LOL. You can check out pictures through the link below!
I also love minimalism and organization. Otherwise I am busy raising kids, lifting weights, hiking, or working towards self reliance through gardening, investing, and reading.
